A compilation of photocopies of documents pertaining to the history and activities of the Flax Institute of the United States and its predecessor, the Flax Development Committee. The collection covers listing of founding officers, articles of incorporation, by-laws and a list of the Institutes' participants. Earlier works on flax, papers from Flax Growers Days, and reconstructed documents from annual Institutes are part of the collection. Proceedings for Institutes from 1958 on were issued as a separate publication. An extensive Flax bibliography covering a period from 1957 through 1978 by John Blake is also included.
